This training is being offered through ZOOM and will be virtual.
To be registered for this training course, you must live or work in Mecklenburg or Cabarrus (North Carolina) counties as this grant is funding those in these counties. You must also be at least 18 years of age. The course is designed for Adults who support Youth.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is a free course, thanks to generous 2023-2024 funding from the Mecklenburg County ABC Board and the Mecklenburg County Community Services Grant.
Deadline: Registration for this course will be closed on Sunday, November 19, 2023 to allow time for completion of the self-guided portion of MHFA.
Once registration closes for MHFA Youth virtual training, you will receive specific instructions on how to complete the REQUIRED 2-hour, online, self-directed course pre-work. NOTE: The 2-hour pre-work MUST be completed 72 hours prior to the 7 hour Instructor-Led portion or you will not be able to take the second portion of the course on December 7, 2023. (Pre-work completion deadline is 12/3/2023)

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance abuse challenges. This course is delivered by certified Mental Health First Aid USA instructors on the MHA staff. Sessions will be held virtually through ZOOM.
NOTE: A minimum of eight (8) registrants required for each course.
Courses with fewer than 8 registered participants 48 hours prior to course date will be cancelled. Registrants will be notified by email of any class cancellation.
